Business to Government (B2G) Research Analytics With Dan Finkenstadt, PhD

Please join Naval Postgraduate School Faculty Member Dan Finkenstadt, PhD, for “Defense Business Data Opportunities: A Brief Discussion.” In this lecture, Finkenstadt will deliver a brief overview of defense acquisition and contracting and a synopsis of relevant B2G research conducted at the defense management department, Naval Postgraduate School. In doing so, Finkenstadt will provide an explanation of the availability and potential research use cases for structured and unstructured data collected within the defense contracting process.

Bio:

Dan Finkenstadt is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Defense Management offering courses in Enterprise Sourcing. Finkenstadt completed his Ph.D. in Marketing from Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has over 19 years of contracting experience in operational (base level), systems center, headquarters, joint, overseas and classified environments. He is also a graduate of NPS (M.B.A., 2011). LtCol Finkenstadt is also the principal investigator for the Simulation and Ideation Lab for Applied Science (SILAS) at NPS. The SILAS focuses on the use of ideation, gamification, and simulation to teach advanced defense management concepts and solve relevant defense management problems. LtCol Finkenstadt has published multiple trade articles related to defense acquisition and has published peer-reviewed works related to marketing and supply chains in the Milbank Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, California Management Review-Insights, Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, the Journal of Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and the Defense Acquisition Research Journal. He recently co-authored the book “Supply Chain Immunity” set to release by Springer Nature in November 2022.
